Homicide Suspect In Custody After Lounge Shooting In Dumfries

Prince William County Police say the suspect in a homicide in front of a lounge in the Town of Dumfries turned himself in.

DUMFRIES, VA — A homicide at a lounge in the Town of Dumfries on March 23 is under investigation by Prince William County Police. The suspect turned himself in on Tuesday, April 2.

Police had responded to the Tempo Lounge & Event Venue at 17650 Possum Point Rd. around 2:08 a.m. Saturday. Officers learned a fight happened in the parking lot and found a 38-year-old with a gunshot wound. The victim received first aid before being taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The victim was identified as Carvell Jarmain Williams, 38, of Warrenton. Two vehicles were struck by gunfire, but no additional injuries were reported.

Detectives identified the suspect as Jonathan Montile Middleton, 37, of Stafford. Police believe the suspect and victim knew each other and were involved in a fight before the shooting.

Middleton is charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond.
