Indecent Exposure Seen By Children In Triangle: Police

Prince William County Police say the suspect did not directly engage with children, who witnessed the indecent exposure.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County Police made an arrest for an indecent exposure in front of children Friday.

The incident exposure happened around 9:42 a.m. Friday in the 18500 block of Corby St. in Triangle. According to police, the suspect was in front of an open window exposing himself and making inappropriate gestures. Multiple children under age 13 who were playing in the area witnessed the suspect exposing himself. Police say the suspect did not have physical contract or conversation with the children.

David John Redmond Mauer, 59, of Triangle, was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure and was held without bond.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On May 4 at 9:48PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Expedition Dr. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed the homeowner heard gunshots before locating damage inside the home. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Shell casings were located in the roadway on Lions Field Rd.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 5 at 2:49AM, officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed there was a verbal altercation between parties before gunshots were heard. Shortly after the gunfire, a dark-colored sedan was seen driving quickly out of the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. A shell casing was located on the ground.

Death Investigation – On May 5 at 5:29PM, officers responded to Dawson Beach Rd. near Highams Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a death. The investigation revealed a Good Samaritan observed a body in a wooded area near the above location. The body was in a decomposed state and transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause of death. At this time, there is no threat to the community concerning the death. More information will be released as necessary. The investigation continues.

Strong-Arm Robbery – On May 6 at 2:21AM, officers responded to the Shorehaven Apartments located in the 16900 block of Porters Inn Dr. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the initial encounter, the victim, and a group of women, including the accused, were inside a vehicle where the victim was struck multiple times. The victim eventually got out of the vehicle, and encountered the accused a short time later near the above area where the accused struck the victim a second time before taking her phone and wallet. There were two additional women with the accused who also assaulted the victim. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation the accused, identified as Erika Juventia Castro Hernandez, 29, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with robbery and 2 counts of assault by mob. The investigation continues as officers attempt to identify the other women involved in the incidents. Castro Hernandez was held on a $2,000 secured bond.
