Independence Day: Loyalty to Country

Independence Day is a federal holiday celebrated on July 4th of each year with the commencement of fireworks, parades, and family gatherings. Let me share how I will be celebrating Independence Day this year. My family plans to spend quality time with each other, and we plan to light some fireworks for entertainment.

I am an Ahmadi Muslim, and I am very grateful and fortunate to enjoy my religious freedom openly. However, merely enjoying my religious freedom is not the only thing I practice. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) stated, “Love for one’s country is part of faith.” As an Ahmadi Muslim, it is my duty to not only enjoy my religious freedom but also to honor the U.S. government and abide by its laws.

Let us all reflect on the freedoms we get to enjoy in our country and be grateful.
