Lake Ridge Woman's Body Found In Garbage Truck, Suspect Located

After a missing woman's body was found in a garbage truck, Prince William County Police are charging a suspect with murder.

LAKE RIDGE, VA — A Lake Ridge woman's body was found in a garbage truck Friday, leading Prince William County Police to charge a suspect with murder.

Police had responded to a Lake Ridge home around 8:49 p.m. Thursday to investigate a missing person. Relatives were concerned about the 30-year-old woman when she had not picked up her child from daycare.

Police investigation found the victim's acquaintance was driving the victim's vehicle in Newport News, which is in Virginia's Hampton Roads region. The victim's personal belongings were still in her Lake Ridge home.

On Friday, detectives stopped a trash collection truck and later found the victim's body inside. Police say detectives found additional evidence connecting the suspect to the victim's killing.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Brendon Devon White, 28, who lives in the same block location as the victim. He was arrested by Newport News Police and is charged with murder.

The victim was identified as Taty’ana Zakiyyah Cooks, 30. Police did not say how the suspect and victim knew each other.
