"One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal."

President Reagan said,” I call upon the scientific community in our country, those who gave us nuclear weapons, to turn their great talents now to the cause of mankind and world peace: to give us the means of rendering these nuclear weapons impotent and obsolete. "Star Wars" missile defense plan, 23 March 1983

Such voices have been rising from the East as well. Mirza Nasir Ahmad, the third Caliph to Messiah Ahmad said it on July 28, 1967 in a public lecture at the Wandsworth Town Hall London., England. Professor Salaam, an Ahmadi Muslim Nobel Laureate in Physics, always worked for Atom for Peace.
We are living in a global village and we are all in the same boat. If a nuclear war starts today, the whole world will suffer. The very existence of mankind & the food reserves will be in danger. Every year the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organizes a Peace Conference in London which is well attended.
Furthermore, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, fifth Caliph to Messiah Ahmad has travelled all around the globe to make the world leaders know the seriousness of the current situation. He has written exhaustive letters to various Heads of States; Israel, Iran, UK. USA, France, New Zealand, Russia. “My request to you, and indeed to all world leaders, is that instead of using force to suppress other nations, use diplomacy, dialogue and wisdom. The major powers of the world, such as the United States, should play their role towards establishing peace.”
“One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.” Rev. Martin Luther King Jr
