WOODBRIDGE, VA — Robbers targeted a gas station in Woodbridge on Friday, the Prince William County Police Department said. The robbers smashed a cash register and stole money and a phone from an employee.

The employee reported minor injuries, authorities said.

Investigators said the robbers left the area in a white Honda Accord with Virginia license plates: VWD-3230.

The robbery occurred around 4 p.m. on Friday at the Shell station on Gordon Boulevard. Two men entered the store and one of them went behind the counter. He implied that he had a weapon, the police report said.

The man grabbed the employee and forced him to the ground. The two robbers took the employee's phone, money, and hit him multiple times.

"At one point, the suspects smashed a cash register and took an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the store," the police department said in a report.
