Shooting Injures Man In Woodbridge, Apartment Units Struck

Prince William County Police say a shooting on a walking path preceded a shooting with one injury in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A shooting at a Woodbridge apartment complex Thursday injured a man and struck two residential units, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 3 p.m., police had responded to a shooting at the Woodwind Villa Apartments in the 14500 block of Piccolo Ln. Officers found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the 1440 block of Richmond Highway. After officers provided aid, fire and rescue personnel took the victim to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police investigation determined the shooting happened on a nearby walking path. Multiple people were seen fleeing from a path. A second shooting involving the victim and two unknown suspects followed. The victim ran toward Richmond Highway, and the other men fled before police arrived.

According to police, the victim refused to cooperate with police on information about the shooting. Officers found two apartments struck by gunfire and shell casings. No other injuries or property damage have been reported.
