Synagogue Gets Bomb Threat, Toddler Finds Drugs: PWC Police Report

Prince William County Police investigated a child neglect case involving a 2-year-old handling suspected drugs and other incidents.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A bomb threat at a synagogue and unconscious 2-year-old handling suspected drugs were among the incidents Prince William County Police handled in the last few days.

The bomb threat happened at Congregation Ner Shalom near Dale City. Around 3:09 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, officers responded to investigate a bomb threat received by email the previous day. Police checked the location but did not find any explosive devices or suspicious items.

The child neglect case drew a police response around 9:07 p.m. last Saturday in the 3800 block of Claremont Lane in Dale City. Police say a 2-year-old boy became unconscious when he was with his rather. The toddler had been handling an object that had suspected illegal drug residue. Police believe the father used the drug earlier in the day. The child went to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Yosely Argueta, 31, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with felony child neglect. He was held on a $5,000 secured bond.

Brandishing of a Firearm/Road Rage: On August 10 at 1:00PM, officers responded to the area
of Minnieville Rd and Tacketts Mill Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 41-year-old man, was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a white Jeep. While both vehicles were stopped next to one another at the above intersection, the driver of the Jeep brandished a firearm before driving off. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

Armed Robbery: On August 11 at 4:49AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 18750 Fuller Heights Rd. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an unknown man entered the store and eventually walked behind the service counter where he brandished a knife towards the employee before demanding money. When the employee did not comply, the suspect took tobacco products and ran out of the store. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported.

Attempted Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer: On August 11 at 2:06PM, officers responded to the Walmart located at 9401 Liberia Ave. in Manassas (20110) to investigate a fraudulent return. The investigation revealed a woman, identified as the accused, made a fraudulent return before leaving the store where a man, who also made a fraudulent return was located by officers. When officers attempted to make contact with the man, he ran out of the store and got into a vehicle being driven by the accused. When an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the accused continued driving and grazed the officer with the vehicle as she drove out of the parking lot. The officer reported minor injuries.
While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Brenda Castillo-Samo, and obtained warrants for her arrest. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful.

Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle: On August 11 at 11:10PM, officers responded to the 1300 block of E. Longview Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed the victim, a 28-year-old woman, woke to an acquaintance, identified as the accused, forcing entry into her home and destroying her property. The victim was eventually able to leave the residence and the accused left shortly after in his vehicle. A short time later, the accused’s vehicle was observed firing a round which struck a separate occupied vehicle in the 1300 block of Saxon St. Officers quickly located the accused’s vehicle and detained the accused, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Officers located a firearm inside the vehicle and determined the accused punctured the tires of the victim’s vehicle before entering her home. No injuries were reported, and no property was reported missing. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Adam Wells, was arrested.

Felony Child Neglect: On August 10 at 9:43PM, officers responded to the Potomac Vista Apartments located in the 14100 block of Bay Vista Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman, later identified as the accused, and determined she was involved in a verbal dispute. During the investigation, officers located an unattended infant child inside an apartment and determined the accused left the child unattended for an extended period of time. Officers also determined the accused was intoxicated and detained her without incident. The baby did not appear harmed and was turned over to known parties. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sarah Elizabeth Huff, was arrested.

Burglary while Armed: On August 12 at 5:18AM, officers responded to the Viridium Apartments located in the 1000 block of Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a home invasion. The investigation revealed an occupant of the apartment, a 28-year-old woman, was asleep inside their residence when two armed men forced their way inside. Once inside the apartment, the men took several items, including multiple firearms. No injuries were reported. Both suspects were wearing dark-colored clothing including ski-style masks. This incident does not appear to be random.

Attempted Residential Burglary: On August 13 at 5:54AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8300 block of Scotland Lp in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed a resident of the home contacted police after finding damage to the front door of the residence. Home surveillance showed an unknown person wearing dark-colored clothing at the door shortly before 5:00AM. The suspect kicked in the front door before leaving. No entry is believed to have been made into the home and no property was reported missing.
