Teen Dies In Woodbridge Shooting, Suspect Wanted By Police

A teen found with gunshot wounds at an apartment complex later died, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A teen is dead after a shooting early Tuesday in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 12:44 a.m., police responded to the shooting at Misty Ridge Apartments in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct in Woodbridge. Officers found a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds in an outdoor stairwell.

The teen was taken to the hospital and later died. The victim's identity will not be released due to his age.

An apartment was struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Police believe the suspect fled on foot after the shooting. A search of the area with a K-9 unit and Fairfax County Police helicopter could not locate the suspect.

Detectives are actively investigating and seek information. The shooting was not believed to be random.
