WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Moderna coronavirus vaccine will be available to anyone who visits George Mason University's mobile vaccine clinic on Tuesday. The clinic will be located at the parking lot of Bayvue Apartments in Woodbridge.

The mobile clinic will operate from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27. The clinic will be located at 1293 Bayside Ave, Woodbridge, VA 22191.

The Moderna vaccine is approved for anyone who is over the age of 18. Now that Prince William County is in Phase 2 of the state's vaccine rollout plan, any adult can visit the mobile clinic to receive the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

"The use of this vaccine is recommended based on the FDA and CDC findings that the vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19, the vaccine's benefits outweighing known and potential risks in people 18 and older," the health district said in a news release. "Review of the data showed a low chance of blood clots and low platelets in the almost 8 million people who received the vaccine."

Those who have not yet received a free coronavirus vaccine can sign up for an appointment online. Anyone without internet access can call the state's hotline at 877-829-4682 to schedule their appointment. Residents can also use the VaccineFinder tool to find an appointment at local pharmacies or healthcare providers.
