Cynthia Carmichael opened her first Nothing Bundt Cakes in Springfield in 2019 and, for the past three years, she has been asked when she would open a bakery in the Woodbridge-Dale City area. “So many of our guests in Springfield were coming from the Woodbridge area. When I was able to share the news of this opening, the enthused reaction was all I needed to know that we would receive a warm welcome,” recalls Carmichael. She also feels blessed to be able to provide jobs and opportunity. “With this second bakery, I’m able to give twice as many young people an opportunity to develop and grow. I want them to realize that this is so much more than frosting a cake. It’s being a better person, helping others enjoy life’s most special moments and giving back.” Carmichael, whose father has been her “number one supporter” all her life was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in 2020. “This disease has taken so much from my dad, and I want to do everything I can to help families who are suffering from this terrible disease.” The bakery will donate a percentage of sales to the ALS Association as part of its grand opening (see complete details below).
