Woodbridge House Fire Displaces Four Residents

The fire department said a resident's quick discovery of the Woodbridge house fire helped limit the fire's spread.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A house fire Saturday night in Woodbridge caused no injuries but displaced four people, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

The fire happened around 8:59 p.m. Saturday at a single-family home in the 15000 block of Michigan Road. A resident had smelled smoke and found fire coming from the side of the home. Units arrived to the fire about to spread into the attic. After arriving at the scene, firefighters quickly put the blaze out.

The cause of the fire was an electrical system failure, according to the fire marshal's investigation.

According to the fire department, the resident's quick action to report the fire helped limit the spread. The fire department said the house has moderate damage and was unsafe to occupy. Four adults were displaced from the home but did not need Red Cross assistance.
