ORTING, WA β€” A 19-year-old Orting man on Thursday officially pleaded guilty to the rape and molestation of two girls his mother previously babysat. The girls, both of whom are now around 13 years old, were between 7 and 11 years old when the felony crimes occurred.

Jacob Tyler Fellis will spend two years in a Washington State prison, followed by three years parole, according to the conditions of his guilty plea. He will also need to register as a sex offender.

According to court documents obtained by Patch, Fellis was between 13 and 18 years old himself when at separate times between 2013 and 2018 he abused the two girls at his home.

The date of the last incident appears to have occurred in early 2018. At the time of each incident, Fellis was reportedly at least three years older than the victim.

A probable cause affidavit for Fellis' arrest was filed in late March 2019.

In his guilty plea agreement, Fellis says that while there is no evidence to convict him of either third-degree rape or molestation of a child, he's taking the plea because he knows there is a chance he would likely be convicted of both first-degree rape and molestation of a child. The distinction between the charges are the former is a Class C felony, while the latter is a Class A felony.
