SEATTLE — A Seattle mother and her boyfriend were arrested Sunday after medics found the woman's child unresponsive at an Uptown home.

Police and fire personnel arrived at the scene on West Olympic Place shortly after 10:30 p.m. and found a 4-year-old boy with traumatic injuries, officials said Monday morning. Despite life-saving measures by medics, the boy was declared dead at the scene.

Police said, based on preliminary evidence, officers arrested the boy's mother, 23, and her boyfriend, 20, and booked them into King County Jail on suspicion of murder. Homicide detectives and the crime scene investigation unit continue to investigate the death.
