Drive-By Shooting Injures 2 Near Alki Beach: Seattle Police

Police recovered more than two dozen shell casings after a man and woman were hit by gunfire near Seattle's Alki Beach on Halloween.

SEATTLE — A man and woman were hospitalized Monday night after a drive-by shooting near Alki Beach, according to the Seattle Police Department.

In a news release, police said the first reports of the shooting came in around 10:10 p.m. near Alki Avenue Southwest and 62nd Avenue Southwest. The first officers on scene found two 37-year-old victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and Seattle Fire medics rushed them to Harborview Medical Center. Police said the woman was in critical condition and the man was stable.

Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a light-colored SUV and officers recovered more than two dozen shell casings from the scene.
