30 Boats Destroyed In Seattle Fire Near Ship Canal Bridge

Around 30 boats that were stacked in storage​ were affected, and a 40-year-old man found on a boat docked nearby was taken to the hospital.

SEATTLE, WA — Roughly 30 boats were destroyed in an overnight boat storage facility fire near the Ship Canal Bridge, the Seattle Fire Department said Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m., when firefighters said they found a fire burning in the 700 block of NE Northlake Way storage facility and one other building.

Around 30 boats that were stacked in dry storage were affected, and a 40-year-old man found on a boat docked near the fire was taken to the hospital in stable condition, fire officials said. The fire has since been brought under control.
