SEATTLE — A Seattle artist and new dad known for his creativity has another idea that’s making its way around the world. Rudy Willingham uses what’s known widely as a “beer bong” to help feed his 8-month-old daughter, videos he shared to TikTok and Instagram show.

Willingham’s daughter, Lily, was only in the second percentile in weight at her most recent doctor appointment. So Willingham, 36, thought back to his college days to find a way to increase Lily’s calories.

“Gained a ton of weight this way in college, so I figured it could do the same for her,” he wrote while sharing a video of him pouring baby formula into the top of a funnel that connected perfectly to the baby bottle nipple.

The homemade baby beer bong device allows liquids to be consumed more quickly, a KLUV report explains.

“I was pretty lucky because it was a perfect fit with the end of the bong, almost like they were always meant to be together,” Willingham said, according to The New York Post.

Willingham is an artist whose cutouts have been seen across Seattle, a Seattle Refined feature on him from December details. He told the publication he uses his art to “make people smile” in a world filled with negativity.

“It’s important for me to create stuff that’s brightening up people’s days,” he said.

Lily’s bong is used only for formula, Willingham said. It’s working so well for her that Willingham is thinking about making one for himself. For water.

“So I can stay properly hydrated throughout the day,” he said, according to The Post.
