The Aspire11 Hilltop Community Endowment’s annual grants will support organizations through the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation. With its establishment, the Endowment will play a part in helping the Hilltop Community where the Aspire11 building is located.

Here is the official dund description: The Aspire 11 Hilltop Community Endowment’s annual grants should aim to increase the socioeconomic, health, and education outcomes of those living or working in the Hilltop Community, who face economic hardships.

"The Endowment will be established through a $50,000 donation and will increase each year by $50,000 until the fund meets the ADG MLK LLC pledge of $500,000. Each year, the Endowment will disperse the interest accrued from the fund," says ADG's Tejvir Basra. "As time goes by, the interest amount will grow, and so will the impact of the financial contribution to the community."

Community is an essential aspect of Aspire11, and as this fund grows in perpetuity, its roots in the community will be more profound. The Endowment will disperse funds to the community forever and continue to mature within the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, a 501(C)(3) organization located in Tacoma. "Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF) acts as a community connector, knowledge facilitator, and catalyst to help build a thriving Pierce County," says Kathi Littmann, GTCF President & CEO. "Through a wide range of philanthropic tools, GTCF partners to support the community’s needs and achieve its opportunities, now and into the future. We are pleased to welcome a new community member and are connecting them to people we rely on for community voice."

Aspire11, aiming to open in 2024, will be a comfortable, high-quality apartment building rooted in a vibrant urban living community, with a focus on biophilic and sustainable elements to invoke a connection to nature. The first floor of the building will provide office and retail facilities, conveniently located minutes from downtown. With a location a few steps away from the Hilltop Tacoma Link Extension, residents and customers will have an effortless commute.

Aspire11 commercial opportunities are ideal for local retailers, eateries, wellness practitioners, and medical professionals that will benefit from being at the center of the Hilltop District, Tacoma's “Medical Mile” and local transit hub. Resident offerings include 289 units and other amenities that aspire to make active urban living easy. In addition to quick access to the new light rail, residents will enjoy plentiful outdoor courtyard space, live-work spaces, bike storage, a gym and yoga studio, and more. There's even a dog-friendly outdoor area green space for residents to picnic, lounge, and connect.

Aspire11 will also feature a select amount of unique live-work units that allow for an ideal opportunity for urban living and creating in the city center. These spaces inspire a new aspect of modern living where potential residents such as artists, professionals, instructors, and makers enjoy voluminous commercially zoned spaces with large storefront windows and the potential for retail access on South J Street. Beyond the resident spaces, the developers also hope to work with the district to offer a collaborative space for community use.

Understanding the historical significance of the Hilltop District, the developers and architect firm, Graves + Associates, are studying the exterior elevations and working with the City of Tacoma, local artists, and community partners to collaborate on the incorporation of public art and historical commemorations.
