King County Sheriff's Office Employee Dies From Coronavirus

The sheriff's office said Julieta Degracia died Sunday from complications related to COVID-19.

SEATTLE, WA — An employee of the King County Sheriff's Office died Sunday from complications linked to COVID-19, officials announced Monday. The sheriff's office said Julieta Degracia worked as a security screener at the courthouse in downtown Seattle.

"She had a beautiful smile and always had a warm greeting for everyone," the sheriff's office posted on Facebook. "We will miss her terribly. Julieta leaves behind her husband of 47 years, three wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren that she adored."

According to public health data, 463 King County residents have died from COVID-19 since January, among 6,582 patients who tested positive for the illness.
