SEATTLE, WA —The Seattle Kraken recently unveiled the warmup jerseys the team will wear prior to Saturday's Pride Night game at Climate Pledge Arena.

At 4 p.m. that day, the Kraken will host the Calgary Flames, and the team will celebrate LGBTQ+ communities throughout the evening.

As has been the case at each of the team's Hockey Is For Everyone (HIFE) games this season, a local artist representing the community being honored has been chosen to design the warm-up jersey for the night.

The jersey Rosenberg has designed includes the colors of the transgender flag: blue, pink and white. Plus, there are roses, which represent the bright futures for trans and nonbinary people, and pansy flowers, which "disrupt one's sense of expected gender norms by combining images of softness and femininity with the strength found in the hockey world," according to the Kraken.

The warmup jerseys will be auctioned off after the game with the proceeds going to One Roof Foundation, the charitable foundation of the Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena.

In addition, a merchandise line featuring Rosenberg's designs will be available for purchase in the Kraken teams stores, with the proceeds of sales going to One Roof Foundation and Seattle Pride Hockey Association.

Rosenberg said they are proud to have their jersey design being used by the Kraken and pleased the team is celebrating Pride Night.

"I think it's amazing the Kraken are including Pride in their season this year. Obviously, pride should be highlighted every year, so it's just really special that I was chosen for this, to bring my connection to the queer community as a non-binary person," Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg added: "I hope that what hockey fans get from the artwork that I made is that all people are welcome in hockey, whether they are male, female or gender non-conforming, that the sport is for everybody."

In addition to this weekend's event, the Kraken organization said it will celebrate Pride with the rest of the city in June when it launches new "Pride Runs Deep" merchandise, hosts the Seattle Pride Hockey Classic at the Kraken Community Iceplex and marches in the Seattle Pride Parade on June 26.
