(Seattle, WA)-He certainly didn’t know it at the time, but David Lee had some impactful influences earlier in his life that led him to where he is today; the owner of Floor Coverings International of North Seattle.

When Lee was in high school, he worked for a general contractor and also benefited from the instruction of an outstanding woodshop teacher. In addition, he spent 11 years working for his father’s wine distribution company. Both experiences were in the back of his mind as he followed his heart to becoming a business owner in an industry built on craftsmanship.

“I have always loved working with my hands to create something beautiful and now I’ve found people with the same passion, and we install new floors,” he said. “And after working for my dad, I have always wanted to own a company with an amazing culture and happy employees and be part of the community. After working for his father, the 46-year-old Lee, a Mountlake Terrace resident, worked for two major corporations, General Motors, and Caterpillar. “They both had the same vision: deliver what the customer wants, do it well and at a fair price. I’ve brought the same philosophy to my own business by working with customers’ needs and wants, then exceeding their expectations,” Lee said.
