SEATTLE — A passenger was shot Tuesday on the West Seattle Bridge and police are still searching for a suspect. The shooting is the latest in a string on roadways around the region, including one in Tacoma on Black Friday that hospitalized an 11-year-old boy and another earlier in the month that injured a 9-year-old in Renton.

According to Seattle police, a woman called 911 around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, telling dispatchers another driver had shot into her car and struck the man in her passenger seat. Officers treated the victim until medics arrived and rushed him to Harborview Medical Center.

Witnesses told police that someone in a silver or gray-colored vehicle opened fire, hitting the victim in the shoulder, then fled the area. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle during a search and continue to investigate. Anyone with information that could help the case can contact SPD's tip line at 206-233-5000.
