SEATTLE — Starting in July, shoppers at Western Washington Fred Meyers will have an opportunity to earn exclusive Mariners gear, thanks to a new partnership between the team and the grocery store chain.

The partnership, which was first announced Thursday and designates Fred Meyer as the "exclusive grocery partner of the Seattle Mariners," gives shoppers with Fred Meyer Rewards accounts an extra incentive: each dollar they spend on select products will earn them a reward point. With enough reward points, the shoppers can then cash in for autographed memorabilia, Mariners gift cards, apparel and even game tickets.

“Fred Meyer is an iconic Northwest brand with stores located in many of the communities our fans call home. We could not be prouder to join with Fred Meyer to reward our fans and their customers when they shop at their favorite Fred Meyer store,” said Catie Griggs, Seattle Mariners President of Business Operations in a news release.

The partnership also means that visitors to T-Mobile Park will soon see some new Fred Meyer signs at various locations.

“We are excited to be the Official Grocery Partner of the Seattle Mariners,” stated Dennis Gibson, president of Fred Meyer Stores. “At Fred Meyer, we strive to achieve great things through teamwork every day, so partnering with a great team like the Mariners is a perfect fit for us.”
