Seattle Restaurant Week returns to Puget Sound on Sunday, offering patrons dozens of lunch and dinner specials at more than 150 participating restaurants, food trucks and pop-ups around the region.

Don't let the name fool you: Emerald City's biggest biannual dining event extends well outside city limits, including plenty of eateries around the Eastside, South King County and Snohomish County. It also runs for two weeks.

Running from Oct. 23 to Nov. 5, the tagline for this fall's event proclaims "the heart and soul of our city is on the table."

Since the pandemic began, Seattle Restaurant Week has been free for restaurants to participate in. This year, the focus is shifting from discounts to more curated, set-price menu offerings and packages, with prices ranging from $20 to $65 for fine dining, comfort food, cocktails and more. Diners and restaurants also have the option to support the Give a Meal program.

“Though the pandemic might seem like old news, the food system is still recovering from shutdowns and is even now experiencing supply disruptions,” said Mariah DeLeo, program manager of Seattle Good Business Network’s Good Food Economy Program. “In the past two years, we have refocused our efforts to provide restaurants the support they need, who in turn help support a resilient food system composed of service workers, farmers, delivery drivers and everyone along the food chain.”

This year's sponsors include Averna, which will curate cocktail menus at certain restaurants, OpenTable, Charlie's Produce and Key City Fish.
