SEATTLE — The Space Needle's iconic New Year's Eve fireworks display will be back to send off 2022, promising a "brighter and bolder" show to welcome revelers back to Seattle Center.

T-Mobile's New Year's at the Needle is celebrating 60 years since the Space Needle's completion for the World's Fair, and for the first time will incorporate drones flying in formation to accompany the pyrotechnics.

According to event organizers, 200 drones will fly just a few hundred feet off the ground, which can be seen best from the Seattle Center campus, where celebrations are slated to begin at 8 p.m. For those celebrating at home, KING 5's live broadcast will begin at 11:35 p.m., with the fireworks and light show starting at the stroke of midnight.
