SEATTLE, WA — If you can't pick a Seattle City Council candidate based on policy, maybe you can make a decision based on what the candidates like to eat and drink.

As part of our candidate questionnaires, Patch asked each of the 55 2019 Seattle City Council primary candidates to name their favorite bar, restaurant, or coffee shop in town. A little over half the candidates responded.

Some had cool picks, like the venerable Beacon Hill coffeehouse The Station and the hippie Wedgwood bakery Grateful Bread. One candidate named Starbucks, and another named a coffee shop that hasn't been open in about five years. But the picks are pretty diverse, from revered craft breweries to crusty North Seattle dive bars.
