SEATTLE — The first stretch of the holiday travel week may be tricky for those flying in or out of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, with subfreezing temperatures and snow in the forecast at times through Friday.

According to data from FlightAware, nearly 200 flights were canceled by late Tuesday morning, with a near-even split between arrivals and departures. The highest number of cancellations were reported at Alaska Airlines, impacting nearly 80 flights, followed by Delta with 47 cancellations Tuesday. Seven dozen other flights were delayed.

SEA officials said the airport's snow team was hard at work to keep the runways clear and de-icing operations were underway. Travelers can check for updates throughout the week on the airport's website. Passengers can also use the airport's expanded Spot Saver program to speed up the security checkpoint process and check wait times and flight statuses on the FlySEA app.
