'Woof By Woofwest' Is Seattle Kennel Club's New Big Dog Show

The Seattle Kennel Club has renamed its annual dog show. The biggest pet event of the year happens this weekend.

SEATTLE, WA - The Seattle Kennel Club has renamed its annual dog show "Woof By Woofwest," but that's not the biggest change for the 2019 show.

This year, you can bring your own dog to the show to watch the other pooches get funny haircuts and compete in wild feats of agility.

As usual, the dog show will feature dozens of breeds of all shapes and sizes. Some dogs, from tiny Chihuahuas up to whip-smart border collies, will compete in the agility course. There will also be demonstrations, like nose work and dogs performing disc acrobatics. There will even be a dog-human dance demonstration with the Emerald City K9 Freestyle Dancers.

"We love all dogs, and we want to be more inclusive with this event. We want to help all the pet owners learn about responsible ownership, health care, and fun activities to share in with your dog," Seattle Kennel Club President Tammie Wilcox said of the 2019 event.

Restrictions apply if you're bringing your own dog. The show is only allowing 25 doggies each morning and afternoon for a total of 50 per day. You can read about the rules and pre-register your well-behaved, vaccinated dog here.

Woof By Woofwest takes place Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. each day at the CenturyLink Field events center. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $7 for kids 4 to 15, and $12 for seniors and members of the military. Kids under 4 are free.
