Deadly Oshkosh Airshow Crash: Victims Identified

Authorities have identified the two men killed Monday in the airplane crash near the EAA AirVenture's Oshkosh Airshow event.

OSHKOSH, WI β€” Authorities have identified the two men killed Monday in the airplane crash near the EAA AirVenture's Oshkosh Airshow event.

One of the victims was identified as Sean M. Tommervik, 37, formerly of El Paso, Texas, who had recently moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tommervik was the owner of the plane.

The other was James G. Sullivan, 32, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, who had recently moved to Brooklyn, New York.

The plane involved was a Lancair Super ES with registration number N18BG.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.

At 12:15 p.m. on Monday, first responders were alerted to a plane crash in a farm field near Old Knapp Road and Nekimi Avenue in the town of Nekimi.

The field is about two miles south of the EAA AirVenture's Oshkosh Airshow event, authorities said.

First responders found the plane fully engulfed in flames. The two men died at the scene.
