Congresswoman Gwen Moore voted against the bill, and roasted Republicans for what she considered a deeply flawed piece of legislation.

β€œToday, I emphatically voted against Trumpcare because it is quite simply a matter of life or death for my constituents," she wrote. "The passage of this legislative abomination underscores the depths of Republicans’ indifference to the 24 million Americans who will lose their coverage and the 14 million Americans who will be kicked off of Medicaid."

Conversely, House Speaker Paul Ryan delivered a passionate speech before the decisive vote. In his speech, Ryan said, "We can continue with the status quo under Obamacare, and we know that looks like. It means even higher premiums, even fewer choices, more insurance companies pulling out, even more uncertainty and even more chaos," Ryan said. "What protection is Obamacare if there is no healthcare plan to purchase in your state? This is the direction Obamacare is rapidly heading."
