Wisconsin March FoodShare Benefits Available March 1: Report

State officials said other Wisconsin food and nutrition programs will continue on their normal schedule.

WISCONSIN -- After the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history, Wisconsin residents questioned the timing and availability of a number of public relief programs.

On Friday, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that funding for March FoodShare benefits is available, and that FoodShare members will see their benefits on their QUEST cards, and be able to use them starting March 1. The benefit amount on members’ QUEST cards on March 1 will be the normal amount FoodShare members receive for the month, officials said.

Wisconsin DHS officials said that due to the recent federal government shutdown, February FoodShare benefits were issued early to members, on Jan. 20.
