Brickworld® LEGO® Exposition Announces 2020 Season

The Brickworld® LEGO® Exposition announces the 2020 show season, six shows covering the Midwest throughout the year. Brickworld attracts LEGO fans from all over the world, including from England, Norway, Japan and Australia, and provides large convention spaces to explore new ideas and strengthen creative communities in person. General admission single ticket prices are listed below, and discounted tickets are available at the door to members of the military and first responders. Kids under three are free.

For 13 years, Brickworld has created interactive experiences for all ages, where LEGO as well as DUPLO enthusiasts can meet to build together at play tables and a graffiti wall, as well as at the Great Ball Contraption, and, in some venues, the community-built Death Star Trench. Fans can also find inspiration in large-scale layouts like train cities, medieval landscapes with castles, science fiction worlds and many more creative environments. Also on display will be LEGO versions of local landmarks like Milwaukee's Miller Park, complete with retractable roof, and Indianapolis' Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Fans can also increase their collections by visiting vendors from their communities and beyond in one location.
"Brickworld is excited to host a robust schedule of expos across the Midwest throughout 2020," said executive director and Master Builder Mark Larson. "We invite fans to take their eyes off of screens and put their hands onto bricks to submerge in the fun of 3D playing and collaboration among friends."

"Brickworld is also delighted to see the new Lego Masters series on Fox every Wednesday starting in February," Larson added. "We're thrilled to see LEGO bricks in primetime, and we plan to use those on-air competitions as inspiration for some expo events."
Activities and displays planned for the six expos include the Great Ball Contraption, a giant collection of small LEGO machines that pass thousands of LEGO soccer balls around a loop; a Play Brick area with many brick options; the Death Star Trench Build; and a community Graffiti Wall, where participants can create whatever they like.

The longer Chicago convention registration is open now until April 30. Late registration runs May 1-June 10. The event begins on June 17, and features awards, mixers, workshops, presentations, competitions, networking opportunities and roundtable discussions. Attendees can bring their creations to display and participate in collaborative layouts and social events, plus increase their LEGO design knowledge and skills. Brickworld Chicago is home to the biggest LEGO charity auction where attendees can bid on rare items to raise tens of thousands of dollars for Make-A-Wish Illinois. The Brickworld Chicago convention, officially sponsored by the LEGO Group, culminates in the June 20-21 expo, which is open to the public.

The LEGO brick is widely recognized as one of the most educational toys in the world. Research suggests children learn best through play and LEGO bricks offer a wide range of benefits to children's development and confidence. Using LEGO bricks exercises creativity skills, hand-eye coordination, and matrix reasoning. At Brickworld, participants of all ages can witness and learn an amazing variety of ways to use the brick for art and engineering applications.
