Flood Watch Issued, Heavy Downpour This Weekend: WI Weather

Wisconsin is once again at high risk for flash flooding this weekend, adding to the already full rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water.

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin is once again at high risk for flash flooding this weekend, adding to rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water that are already at capacity thanks to the wet spring.

A flood watch was issued for Saturday, covering the following counties: Fond du Lac, Columbia, Dane, Green Lake, Marquette, Sauk, Dodge, Jefferson, Washington, and Waukesha.

Several rounds of heavy rain and storms may lead to flooding Friday through Saturday night, with rates up to 1 inch per hour possible, the National Weather Service said.

Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. High near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Low around 64. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
