No Danger After Hazmat Called To Milwaukee Federal Courthouse: Reports

Fire officials told reporters there is no threat after a substance was found in an envelope at Milwaukee's federal courthouse Friday.

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” The discovery of a suspicious substance at the federal courthouse in Milwaukee Friday sparked a hazmat response from the Milwaukee Fire Department, according to multiple media reports.

A report by FOX6 News citing fire officials said a material, possibly a powder, was discovered in an envelope but responders found nothing dangerous and the building has since been deemed safe.

A drone and people in hazmat suits were spotted at the scene and four people were decontaminated outside the building and hospitalized as a precaution, according to TMJ4 News.

The response began around 2:30 p.m. with police later blocking off Wisconsin Avenue between Jackson and Jefferson Streets, according to a report by WISN12.
