The Kelly Johnson Foundation's Turkey Trot Returns for the 6th Year

Six Years Strong: The Kelly Johnson Foundation's Turkey Trot Returns for a Day of Gratitude, Community, and Fitness Fun

BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN – As the autumn air turns crisp as the holiday season approaches, there is a sense of togetherness. This Thanksgiving weekend the Kelly Johnson Foundation invites you to join our 6th annual Turkey Trot 5K. This event will be a celebration of community, adventure, and fitness, making the day a memorable one.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 25th at 9:00am CST, where the fun run will take place at Mitchell Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Runners of all levels are welcome and encouraged to try it out, where anyone may participate for their own enjoyment or for a friendly competition. Participants are free to run, walk or stroll their way to the finish line.

The race will be separated into division based on age group and gender. It will be timed, and awards given out to the top male and female runners by age division & overall male and female finisher. There will also be a giveaway available for every participant at the end of the race, with prizes including but not limited to Wisconsin Athletic Club (WAC) 30 Day Membership, the Unforgiving Line Running Books by Paul Maurer, Performance Running Outfitters gift cards, Rustoleum Paint gift packs, Goodr running accessories, Simple Biz 360 prize pack, and more!

The spirit of giving back is strong during this season, and all participants will leave with a sense of fulfillment. Event proceeds will help the Kelly Johnson Foundation support local high schools in the US that have insufficient funding for after-school athletic and extracurricular programs. These contributions fuel the growth of its Johnson Family Scholarship program.

Kelly Johnson, the founder of the Kelly Johnson Foundation, is beyond thrilled to be able to host the Turkey Trot for the 6th year. She explains her excitement as she says, β€œEach year, our Turkey Trot becomes a cherished tradition, bringing our community together to make a lasting impact. As the race director, I'm proud to see this event grow and thrive, not only as a memorable annual tradition but as a powerful force for good. With every stride, we're not just running, but we're running for our community and the important work of our nonprofit. Let's trot for the community and make this Thanksgiving extra special!”

The runner registration fee is $20 for youth runners, $35 for adults, and $30 for seniors, if purchased pre-race (before November 23rd). This fee also includes a long-sleeve, moisture-wicking shirt to wear during the race, as well as post-race refreshments.
