KENOSHA, WI β€” A federal jury convicted a Kenosha man on Friday of one count of possessing child pornography.

Joseph M. Thomas, 43, is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 1, 2024. He faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in federal prison.

However, he could be given more prison time after a federal district court judge considers other factors. Thomas was convicted of the repeated sexual assault of a young child in 2011.

Thomas’s stash of child porn was uncovered after the illegal activity was traced to a computer in his residence, investigators said.

The FBI obtained a warrant to search Thomas’s home and seized multiple hard drives and other digital devices, which he had used to save and view child porn from 2017 to 2021, according to authorities.
