Local Church To Host Prayer Service In Response To Mass Shootings

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will host a midday prayer service in response to the shootings in Gilroy, Dayton, and El Paso.

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson Street, will hold a prayer service tomorrow, Aug. 9 at 12:15 p.m. The prayer service is being held in response to the recent shootings in Gilroy, El Paso and Dayton.

Bishop Jeffrey Haines will preside over the prayer service, which is scheduled to last approximately 30 minutes.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Urban Initiative MKE, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and the Family of Four Eastside Parishes are co-sponsoring this event.

Prayers will be offered for healing, peace, conversion of heart, and an end to violence and hatred. All are welcome to attend.
