Lottery Ticket Sold At West Allis Gas Station Wins Over $43,000

The sales representative who sold a winning $43,000 ticket on Monday told Wisconsin Lottery the winner was "stunned."

WEST ALLIS, WI β€” A lottery ticket purchased for $5 at a gas station on Becher Street in West Allis Monday won a $43,003 jackpot, Wisconsin Lottery announced Wednesday.

The ticket, which won 50 percent of the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot was sold at Lucky Petro Inc. at 8323 West Becher Street, a news release said. It's the fourth jackpot win for the game since it debuted last month, the Wisconsin Lottery said.

The player didn't believe she won at first, the sales representative who sold the ticket told Wisconsin Lottery.

"At first, she wasn't sure she won. She asked me to check the ticket, so I looked, then told her it was a jackpot winner," said Dileep Muppalla. "She was stunned for about a minute and then she got very excited. It was a nice win."

Wisconsin Lottery said it's the largest winning ticket ever sold at Lucky Petro Inc. The retailers who sell a winning ticket over $599 get a two percent incentive.

The jackpot odds were 1 in 240,000 for the ticket, which is only winnable in Wisconsin.
