Milwaukee Admirals President Re-Names Team After Favorite Meal: The Fish Fry

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” The Milwaukee Admirals will get a new name for one weekend in March after the team president's favorite meal: the fish fry.

The hockey team will be temporarily called "The Milwaukee Fish Fry" on March 11 and 12, team president Jon Greenberg announced Friday.

"We aren't going to be the Admirals anymore," Greenberg said in an announcement video. "We are going to be the Milwaukee Fish Fry. It is going to be awesome."

Players will wear red and white checkerboard uniforms reminiscent of table cloths seen at pubs and food halls across Wisconsin. The new team logo features a walleye being lured with french fries.

The uniforms will be auctioned from March 9-12 and the proceeds will go to the Admirals Power Play Foundation charity, Greenberg said.

Fish Fry gear will be available in the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Panther Arena team store and a ticket package with a voucher to a local fish fry joint will be available for purchase, the president added.

The Milwaukee Admirals will play against the Manitoba Moose on Sunday.
