MILWAUKEE, WI— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Milwaukee, meet Edgardo Correa.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Stacey Martinez who nominated Edgardo Correa of Milwaukee.

What makes your dad extra special?

He chose to be our dad in 1981. After a tragic accident took our mom's life in 2005, he made a solemn promise to her at her bedside to be with us no matter what. And that promise he has held ever since. He has and is the best grandpa to our children. When we call, he is there. Thank you for including us as your own, for teaching us to be accepting of everyone. Thank you for choosing to love us when our own biological father was incapable of loving. Thank you for being you. We love you! Love Stacey, Jason, Jamie(RIP), Nicholas, Ann, Nicole, and Alexandra. 18+ grandkids and 3 great grandchildren.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

He has lost much in life but still has a smile and still shows up even though we're quite a distance away.

Happy Father’s Day to Edgardo Correa, and thank you for all you do!
