Pros: Working in construction allows you to be outside frequently, which is something everyone should think about before committing to a specific job. Compensation is good for employees, however owning your own business will let you make even a better profit. Taking part in something big such as large building projects and completing them as a team is also something which can be self-gratifying. Furthermore, working weekends is rare in this industry.

Cons: Working outdoors can also be con because you will often experience unfavorable weather. The job is very physical strenuous, so be prepared for your body to take a beating. Other than that, it is definitely one to keep in mind.

Plumbers

Pros: Joining the union of skilled plumbers is financially rewarding. They make on average about 30$ per hour, well above the median. Apprenticeships in the field are relatively easy to come. Going to school for plumbing is relatively affordable. On the job-experience is provided too. The job is very satisfying as you are helping customers fix their problems on a daily basis

Cons: Unfortunately, working in this trade means lots of late hours and weekends, unless you have made a reputation for yourself or decided to start your own business. In addition, working in the area of Wisconsin plumbing means dealing with countless unpleasant odors & dirty work, but that’s kind of a given, especially when if doing septic services. Toilet work can be disturbing as well.

Electricians

The work is physical, but usually not backbreaking compared to most other trades. Gaining experience in the trade is something not extremely challenging.

Cons: When on the job as an electrician, its important to pay attention to minute details because of devastating electrical accidents. One small mistake can blow the breaker of a building or may result in death. Long hours are probable. Those are about the only cons.
