Traffic Open Again After Shooting On Interstate 94 West In Milwaukee

All lanes are open after a person was injured by gunfire on the westbound portion of the highway, officials said.

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” The Interstate 94 westbound in Milwaukee opened around 11:56 p.m. after all lanes shut down following a shooting on Wednesday morning, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office announced.

One person was injured by gunfire and was taken to a local hospital for serious injuries, the sheriff's office said. All four lanes of traffic on the westbound portion of I-94 near West Allis was diverted to N. Hawley Road to make room for an investigation.

The N. Hawley Road exit was located near West Allis and Wauwatosa. The westbound portion of the highway was blocked around 10:20 a.m., a Wisconsin Department of Transportation notification showed.
