Summer Exhibit At Milwaukee Co. Zoo Features Saber Tooth Tiger Display

For its summer exhibit opening in May, the Milwaukee County Zoo is featuring robotics and displays of animals from the ice age.

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” Visitors at the Milwaukee County Zoo this summer might find themselves face-to-face with a saber-toothed tiger and a woolly mammoth when a special exhibit that takes you back to the ice age opens.

Called "Dino Don's Journey to the Ice Age," the exhibit opens on May 20 and will last until Oct. 7, according to a news release from the zoo. Many of the creatures that will be on display may seem just short of being real with their robotics and displays.

On Monday, the zoo gave us a peek at what two of the most recognizable creatures will look like at the special exhibit. Even more of the enormous and scientifically-accurate displays of ice-age creatures continue to show up ahead of the opening, the zoo said.

In a blog post, the zoo noted that the ice ages began 2.4 million years ago. Amid the cold times, giant mammals roamed the earth like huge sloths, mammoths, and more.

Admission to the special exhibit may cost additional fees. Find more information about the exhibit at the zoo's website.
