WISCONSIN — You can probably recall the tune of "White Christmas" from memory, and might know all the words. But for the Wisconsinites dreaming of a white Christmas in the Badger State, here's the chance of that actually happening.

To determine the probability of a White Christmas, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center looked at historical data from 1981-2010. That puts the likelihood of an inch or more of snow on the ground on Christmas Day varying across Wisconsin.

For more northern parts of the state, the chances of an inch or more vary from 60 to over 90 percent. For southeastern Wisconsin, the chances range from 40-60 percent, according to the NOAA historical data.
