Abstract: Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) systems for energy harvesting with thermal management are provided. The systems include a three-dimensional architected wick having a porous structure for delivering a two-phase working fluid via capillary action to maintain efficient cooling of a TPV cell array. The wick is configured to uniformly deliver working fluid for evaporative cooling of the TPV cells. The wick may be in direct thermal communication with the TPV cell or employed to locally deliver working fluid to an evaporator that is in direct thermal communication with the TPV cell. The increased surface area of porous structure of the wick and the evaporator increases heat dissipation and evaporative cooling providing an improvement in temperature distribution and heat transfer critical to maintaining the TPV cell at a constant temperature.

Abstract: A telescopic device includes an expandable tubular structure and an inner-side guide member disposed inside the tubular structure. The tubular structure includes an outer belt and an inner belt. The outer belt and the inner belt each have a plurality of first protrusions and holes arranged in a row in the longitudinal direction. The inner-side guide member has a first spiral groove extending along the plurality of first protrusions. When the inner-side guide member rotates in one direction, the outer belt and the inner belt are sent out, so that they are spirally wound while being engaged with each other, and the tubular structure extends. The first spiral groove has a body and an end portion extending from the body toward the root of the inner-side guide member. The distance between the end portion of the first spiral groove and the main part of the first spiral groove is small.

Abstract: An operation management system including a computer configured to manage operations of registered mobilities. The computer stores road surface information in association with a position in map data based on at least a detection result of a surroundings monitoring device and positional information received from a measurement mobility. The computer stores, as a detail detection area, at least one of a poor detection area in the map data in which detection of the road surface information by the measurement mobility is poor and a predetermined area in the map data. The computer transmits, to the measurement mobility that is scheduled to travel or that is traveling the detail detection area, a speed change command, such that the measurement mobility, which travels at a normal command speed by automated driving, travels the detail detection area at a specific speed lower than the normal command speed.
