Also not autopositioning if multiple points are used on a thumbnail. See Module_talk:Mapframe#Second_point_does_not_show_up

A small workaround while awaiting a fix, adding coordinates/frame coordinates to the mapframe parameters (I've only used the infobox template) fixes the display of the map in the frame.
The issue with labels showing outside the masked area also remains.

Subscribing. I found this issue on a couple of admin areas shapes that I was working on, while a number of (not great) workarounds include removing the multiple wikidata Q numbers or the P402 entries (including using the deprecate ranking), or create new Q numbers for the multiple shapes, I see some high profile items such as Q90 (Paris) currently affected.

Sounds like you chaps have a very quick handle on things - great stuff and keep up the good work.
Thanks to @Evad37 for reporting. I just want to add that the marker/shape sometimes does show initially in article space, but subsequently it can disappear and then reappear. That's even after I link the Wikidata item to the OSM item and it does that initial cache which shows it. This article for instance I am sure showed it previously, but doesn't presently.

Team Phabricator, will there be any traction on this? This is such a core function of any table that I am surprised this has stalled for so long.
As a builder of a few advanced tables this has been quite literally a bug-bear to me, even more so that we have a working solution on Polish Wiki.
I appreciate the English Wiki will need some testing, but really this needs to be actively worked with a higher priority.
Even if we implement this initially and then going forward, add functionality to make any column fixed.
If need be I can supply coffee and biscuits to help get this going.
