UPPER DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP — Sika Corporation USA, a specialty chemicals company, broke ground on a new facility Friday on Route 77.
The 250,000 square-foot Sika Northeast anchor site will be a mortar production plant for commercial and residential construction, according to a company news release. It's expected to start operating later next year.
The facility is expected to create 50 jobs, the company said.
Sika has more than 400 factories worldwide and subsidiaries in 103 countries.
“This new investment into our supply chain and manufacturing footprint is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the Northeast Region and the surrounding areas of the United States as a prime production hub,” said Jim Walther, CEO and president of Sika Corp. USA.
