A Pleasantville man was sentenced to five years of probation Thursday for a gun charge stemming from a motor vehicle stop in 2022, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Jordani Martinez-Casiano, 25, previously pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun.
Police responded to Pizza Di Roma on North Main Street on Aug. 28, 2022, after a caller said a heavily damaged Honda Accord was chasing a minor. The caller gave the registration of the vehicle and said the car was last seen parked at Kings Food Store.
Officers stopped the vehicle operated by Jein Colon-Marrero as it was traveling east toward North Main Street. Martinez-Casiano was a passenger in the vehicle.

During the stop, police noticed a metal baseball bat, which Martinez-Casiano said he always keeps with him, and a fixed-blade knife on the driver's side floor, the Prosecutor's Office said Friday in a news release.

Colon-Marrero and Martinez-Casiano denied being at Pizza Di Roma at the time of the incident but acknowledged they were at Kings before they were stopped. The two also denied the presence of weapons in the vehicle but admitted having marijuana, the Prosecutor's Office said.
Police searched the car and found a bookbag on the front passenger floor that contained a Sig Sauer P245, 36 grams of marijuana, small heat-sealed bags, two digital scales and sandwich bags.
