Grim future ahead
The year is 2101. Abused Mother Earth’s biosphere is no longer human friendly, global average temperatures averaging 130 degrees Fahrenheit during “cold” seasons, millions of other species becoming collateral damage to the technologically advanced species’ myopic refusal to cease burning fossil fuels soon enough, preventing mass extinctions, including that of the perpetrator of this horrendous crime.
The enormous starship blasting off into the cosmos 10 years ago, carrying 10,000 biological human survivors, chosen for the desperate journey, in search of another biosphere-friendly planet, where human DNA can hang its hat, saving a reckless species from complete extinction, no longer communicates with the self-sustaining artificial humans, composed of non-biological materials, currently residing on a charred Mother Earth, carrying on basic functions, maintaining a semblance of what biological humans used to do, withstanding the heat, lack of nourishment, potable water, unfazed by the severe storms further pummeling the parched landscape and polluted seascape.

The climate crisis humankind created and ignored, ironically, a self-destructive end to nature’s experiment with advanced evolving intelligence, alas, unable to overcome a lack of maturity, vestiges of a violent evolution where might continued to make right, tribal instincts could not be overcome, greed superseded sanity among political and industrial leaders, finally did these carbon-based creatures in, now replaced by manufactured mobile self-aware AI, replicating as necessary through a cloning process befitting androids, contrary to any progression of random mutations over billions of years, populating the scorched planet.
Perhaps this was humankind’s destiny all along! Chances of biological procreation on another planet, a roll of the dice, would likely come up snake-eyes.
But if by chance a substantial number of biological humans do survive somewhere in the cosmos, is it likely they make the same mistakes, abusing their new home in much the same way, learning nothing from the second kick of a cosmic mule? Hmmm.

President's family should step in
Democracy the real issue
I read Jonah Goldberg’s thoughts on the debate. I agree with his opinions about these debates in general, and the possible impact. If Biden is able to sound and act like a president, he gains support. Trump supporters generally recognize his strength as an executive and performance as president, but are encumbered by issues of character. Biden has issues as well, but they are largely ignored, and as a friend of mine says, “Biden has a great smile.”
I think this is all theater and distraction. The real issue on the ballot this year is: Do Americans want a one-party system as exists in other countries, including China and Russia, or do they want the often messy two-party-or-more system that has been the practice in America, historically?
Trump is a short-term problem at worst. Biden is not really the commander-in-chief. Never has been, never will be.
There’s good reason that several effective Democratic politicians have left the party.

Biden, Murphy ruined the shore
Unless someone is delusional, business at the shore is down thanks to the policies of Joe Biden and Phil Murphy.
Let’s take a brief look at what they have both done. Biden has made it impossible for our country to be energy independent by denying oil and gas leases while he’s drained our oil reserves and put thousands of Americans out of work.
“I got your back” Murphy takes every chance he has to put the screws to the people of New Jersey by raising the taxes we pay for fuel for our automobiles. He raised the tolls on our highways. We don’t need more highways built. We need our existing roads paved. I believe he spent millions of our tax dollars on his wife’s campaign, I believe he took COVID funds meant to help small business owners and used those funds to decorate his office and bought gas-guzzling Chevy Suburbans so he can ride around in comfort. Why didn’t he buy EVs?
