Varsity Eight Mainland Regional

The Mustangs finished fourth in the petite (consolation) final at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America Regatta, which is commonly called “Nationals.” Also placed third in a semifinal in the Stotesbury Cup. Won the three-boat Atlantic County race to lead the Mustangs to the overall girls team title. Finished second in its final at the Garden State Championships.
Varsity Four Holy Spirit
Gwen Amalfitano, Taya Anderson, Allie Solari, Allie Lee, coxswain Gia Rynkiewicz
This crew dominated its division, winning at the Garden State, Philadelphia City and Atlantic County regattas. The Spartans also finished third among 49 crews at Stotesbury and were fourth at Nationals. Anderson will row at Stanford University in the fall, and Lee will row at St. Joseph’s.

Junior Double Holy Spirit
Jordan Finnerty, Ava Buccafurni
Won the five-boat Atlantic County double race. Also reached the semifinals at the Garden State and Philadelphia City championships and Stotesbury Cup to lead the area.
Lightweight Four Egg Harbor Township
Rachel Kent, Gianna Middleton, Isabela Patel, Lily Winkler, coxswain Talia DeNafo
This crew won the Nationals final by more than four seconds, after finishing fourth at Stotesbury the previous week. The Eagles also won at the Garden State (commonly called “States)”, Philadelphia (known as City) and Atlantic County races.
Junior Eight Atlantic City
Lexi Gormley, Lauren Fox, Zuzanna Turska, Anna Tran, Kaitlynn Do, Ixanna Salinas-Torres, Maggie Morgan, Mardiha Ahmed, coxswain Tasnova Tayeba
The Vikings’ crew won its final by three seconds at Nationals. Also was first at States and City Championships and third at Stotesbury.
Junior Four Holy Spirit
Ella Bencze, Anika Patel, Emily Penza, Juliana Gorka, coxswain Angel Elefante
This crew earned the edge in a very competitive division. Finished second at States and third at the City Championships to lead the area. Placed third in a semifinal at Stotesbury in a category with 52 boats.
Junior Four Vineland
Sam Soracco, Blake Harris, Alyanna Tiu, Exodus Hollander, coxswain Erin Krause
Won the six-boat Atlantic County race by more than seven seconds to highlight a competitive season. Finished fourth in a Stotesbury semifinal.
Second Four Egg Harbor Township
Casey Herron, Julia Latham, Lilly Corcoran, Michelle Rodriguez-Guerra, coxswain Alanna Malc
Led all area girls and boys crews in each division at Stotesbury with a second-place finish. In their usual junior four category, the Eagles were third at States, fourth at City and third in Atlantic County.
Second Eight Ocean City
Reese Hemberger, Callie Bellwoar, Reese Powell, Marissa Trostle, Addison Guest, Romi Yakita, Ava Ryan, Aubrey Schlembach, coxswain Ava Ruh
The Red Raiders led the area in their category in all five championship regattas. Won a two-boat race at the Atlantic County event and finished third at Stotesbury and fifth at Nationals. Also placed second at States and fourth in the City Championships.
Novice Eight Egg Harbor Township
Alyssa Hickey, Avery Hickey, Caitlin Harding, Nourai Omar, Scarlett Butcher, Sophia Costello, Kaylee Beck, Shea Harvey, coxswain Emily Hager
Outstanding group of first-year rowers that won at States, City and Atlantic County to sweep its season. Novice boats don’t compete at Stotesbury and Nationals.
Freshman Eight Mainland Regional
Lexi DeFeo, Leyda Erenler, Taylor Funk, Gabrielle Grant, Madison Gannon, Samantha Funk, Heather Milstead, Kieran Walsh Blair, coxswain Emily Thomas
The Mustangs’ crew led the area in its division, placing second at the Garden State event and sixth at the City Championships.
Novice Four Cedar Creek
Kaitlyn Sullivan, Blair Morfitt, Madison Dunn, Ella Derasmo, coxswain Madeline Keller
Won the six-boat Atlantic County race by more than seven seconds. At the City Championships, the Pirates led the area by placing sixth among 15 crews.
Junior Quad ACIT
Reese McKnight, BaiLee Wescoat, Kaitlyn Soreth, Brooke Block, (Rosalie Handle, Emma Highberger)
This Red Hawks’ crew won the two-boat Atlantic County race. Handle and Highberger, along with McKnight and Wescoat, were in the lineup that placed fourth at States.
Freshman Four Egg Harbor Township
Hilary Forman, Meghan White, Camila Socha, Zolimar Luciano-Gonzalez, coxswain Cayley Dougherty
The Eagles placed second at the City Championships before finishing first out of three boats in the Atlantic County race.
